Maintenance Crew Member

We are looking for a full-time maintenance crew member to join our team. This full-time position supports both nursery operations and professional landscaping services. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in creating beautiful landscapes, and aren’t afraid of hard work, we’d love to meet you. Our maintenance team cares for residential and commercial properties throughout South Whidbey Island, providing professional landscape maintenance with attention to detail and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Mowing, edging, trimming, and pruning
  • Weeding and general garden maintenance
  • Planting trees, shrubs, and seasonal flowers
  • Mulching and spreading soil or bark
  • Operating landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hedge trimmers
  • Cleaning job sites and maintaining equipment
  • Working as part of a team to provide high-quality service to our customers

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Landscaping or maintenance experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
  • Must be dependable, hardworking, and have a positive attitude.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds repeatedly and performing strenuous outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Washington driver’s license
  • Ability to work well with a team and follow directions

Wages/Benefits:

  • Wages range from $21/hr. to $26/hr. DOE

Assistant Nursery Manager

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Nursery Manager to join our growing team at our nursery on South Whidbey Island. This position is ideal for someone who loves plants and is skilled at leadership and customer service. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work in a unique environment that combines retail nursery operations with landscape and maintenance services. The Assistant Nursery Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, staff coordination, plant care and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist General Manager with general operations and supervision of retail nursery staff
  • Help maintain highest level of customer service
  • Coordinate with landscape and maintenance elements of business to ensure success in all areas
  • Ensure quality control and care of live plants
  • Helping with merchandising and overall presentation
  • Assisting with marketing and social media campaigns

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Leadership and/ or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of landscape plants, gardening principles and landscape practices for the Northwest
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to lift approximately 40–75lbs as needed
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Work outdoors in all forms of weather
  • Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
  • Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) certification preferred but not required
